We've taken to turning our tree stands for deer hunting into the adult version of a tree fort. And, being adults we have a little more wherewithal to upgrade our tree stands with a few extra amenities such as solar chargers, 12v power ports, and built in lighting. Of course, building in lighting is great, except when it causes you to lose your night vision. So enter some red LED's...I have a couple of these attached directly to 12v power coming from a marine battery in my tree stand. The light is bright enough to let me get settled in in the morning but doesn't kill my night vision.Two nice things about these assemblies are that they are very easy to mount using the two built in screw holes and they take power directly at 12v, no having to wire in resistors to drop the current before you can use them.Definitely very useful for any location where you have access to 12v DC power and need some light that won't kill your night vision.
