[ ASSEMBLY REQUIRED ] To assemble, just twist the spires into the openings in the central hub to lock them into place. 28 spires total: 18 large, 8 small, 2 replacement spires included in case of breakage. Spires are size-matched to openings for easy assembly.

This star is very nice, big and bright, and making it LED-powered assures a long trouble-free service life. The one thing I will criticize is the lack of an assembly manual—it includes only a set of safety "instructions," with no guidance on how to assemble it. So I started off by trying to snap in all the spikes, which was very difficult bordering on impossible, and resulted in stretching the center ball to the point of the seam separating, making the assembled product much more fragile. It was not until I read the outside of the box where it said "twist and lock spires for easy assembly," and only then was I able to finish putting it together. I consider this a value-impairing deficiency which would be easy to correct by printing an assembly instruction sheet, which means I can't give it a 5 rating. Other than that, I wish the wire were green not white, but I found a way to work around that.
