OK, I bought these mainly because they seemed to get better quality reviews than a lot of cheap multi-tools out there. I thought the idea of a task flashlight in the end was kind of a gimmick. But I used the light the other day while working on something, and let me tell you, it seriously rocks. We have drills with lights on them now that help you see your work better, why not a pair of pliers? Turns out that a light on a hand tool like this can be just as useful, if not more so.I find that most of the time, when I am drilling things, I am working out in the open and can see what I'm doing already. But that is not the case for bolts and such. Use this just once in a spot where the light isn't so great and you will also be a complete convert. This thing actually earned a spot in my regular tool chest just because of the light. You can even replace the batteries easily, although they should last a long time, because you usually only need to run them for a few minutes at a time. The pliers themselves seem reasonably well made, with a nice, precise end for needle-nose stuff. It comes with a decent case, which, if you put the pliers in it the correct way, should generally protect the flashlight switch from being triggered accidentally.I haven't beaten on them (and I don't intend to - they aren't lineman's pliers, after all). For general purpose stuff, they seem sturdy enough. For what I paid, I think these things are an excellent value.
