My opinion may be a bit biased because this is one of my top five "Lost on a Desert Island" albums/soundtracks. I saw the original movie in 1976 (but never got to see Zeppelin live) and have most of the soundtrack burned into memory from thousands and thousands of listens. This box set uses the movie edit versions of the songs plus the songs that did not make the original release. If you are familiar with the edits between the original vinyl double album and the movie, it is the movie versions of the songs presented here on vinyl and the CDs along with both the original movie and the re-release of the movie with the added content and songs. The sound is excellent. I loved the original version's Madison Square Garden sound which, if anything, seems enhanced on the mixes here. I haven't decided which I like better. there seems to be more separation of all instruments and details of the vocal, guitar, bass & drums seem to stand out. Even the echoing Theremin stands out better in this mix. And for you guitar players, all of those Les Paul/SG/Marshall tones and Jimmy's playing just sound amazing. Tweaking your systems bass and treble levels provides more options than the original release mixes and media.Plus, it is cool having these versions of live Black Dog, Since I've Been Loving you & The Ocean on vinyl.Different Zep fans like their different live recordings and bootlegs but I have always loved the 72 and 73 live stuff and the Madison Square Garden performances and sound win over How the West Was Won performances, for me, at least. Maybe just because of how the movie captured everything visually as well. One gripe - where is the 4K video? I hope that is in the works for release at some point. If you liked the original soundtrack album and movie, you will love this compilation of vinyl, video, picture book, Tour booklet from Japan and the limited edition album cover print. Gotta Love It!!!
